defaultstatus

Definition: The defaultstatus property of the window object provides access to the default message that is displayed in the status bar. This property can be used both to read and to write the default message however write access is only available where the browser security that prevents JavaScript updating the status bar has been disabled in the browser. Since most browsers now disable JavaScript's ability to access the status bar defaultstatus should be considered to be a read only property if you use it in your code.
